Our Vision & Mission
Our Vision is for all students to embrace their self-worth while experiencing success in the educational environment.
Our Mission is to maintain our passion for all students and their educational success. We will continue to learn, create, and utilize innovative tools, techniques, and strategies as we provide services for the Exceptional Students. We will evaluate available resources and assure they are being utilized to the fullest and most compliant manner. We will emphasize the importance of complimenting, consistency, and cooperation, as we encourage a true team concept of teaching the child.
A Note from the Director, Judy C. Belkis, MA
Years ago, as I envisioned the possibilities of this endeavor, I became excited about the many opportunities it could bring. However, I had no idea how blessed I would be as I worked with such a diverse group of students, crossed paths with an abundance of educators of the highest integrity, learned from leaders with endless ideas and creativity, and worked with a staff so committed and passionate for all students. The journey continues and maybe we will see you along the way.
"Every student has something to teach us…
Our History
We have been providing Exceptional Student Services for District, Charter, and Private schools across the state since August, 1999. We have maintained a professional yet personal rapport with administrators, teachers, parents, students, and state regulators for the duration of our existence. Our growth has been consistent yet intentionally moderate as we strive to continue to provide the most quality services available.
Kris Johnson – Westwind Prep Academy and Middle School Principal
Special Educational services can be the greatest asset to a school if they are done correctly. Combine with that the joy of knowing that someone else is taking care of your students in a way that follows every law new and old and still remembers that students are the priority is what we get in STEP's service. We currently have 1000 students in our district and our Special Education monitoring's have been glowing. Their reputation with the Department of Education, with parents, with other schools is of constant professionalism and knowledge. We count ourselves lucky to be able to continue a relationship with this group of service providers.

As a consulting psychologist, I come in contact with multiple special education providers. For the past several years I have enjoyed a wonderful working relationship with Judy and her staff at STEPs. I am honored to work with a group so dedicated and thorough in their efforts to support the individual needs of students.
Carl Grasso- School Psychologist
I have had the opportunity to work with a host of administrators and faculty members, in both public and private schools, as a former Director of Special Education in New York and as the current Executive Director of Education Support Services.
For the past several years I have had the pleasure of working with Judy and her staff who consistently exhibit a high degree of professionalism while providing an extraordinary level of quality services to the schools, parents and students they serve.
It is truly a pleasure to be affiliated with this team of professionals.
