About Alyssa Coronado

Alyssa Coronado is a Certified Special Education Teacher in the state of Arizona.  She is duel certified in Special Education-Cross Categorical, Kindergarten through High School and General Education, Kindergarten through Eighth Grade. She earned her Bachelor’s in Education with an emphasis on Special Education from Arizona State University. While attending the University, she was able to study abroad to Costa Rica; traveling to different schools with diverse populations and a variety of economic status. This inspirational field experience allowed her the opportunity to gather first-hand knowledge of the education, culture, and society of another country. This involvement through her course study, encouraged her as an educator.

Alyssa has been  working with STEPS for over six years, and teaching in the Special Education field.  She has worked with a diverse population of students with disabilities, ensuring their individual needs are being met. Learning is a gift that takes place in a variation of settings, environments and perspectives. She believes all students, when given the opportunity to lead their own education and learning, are capable of achieving success beyond all expectations.  She is constantly learning from these amazing students, which she is fortunate and grateful to work with. The students she services, teaches her more about self-determination, success, happiness and life than any formal degree she has or will obtain. Her most recent reward is witnessing my students achieve success on a daily basis.

The accomplishments she is most proud of are her two beautiful and vibrant daughters.  Education is her passion, her family and students are at the heart of her drive. The field of education motivates and humbles her each day.
